Kimberly grew up in an abusive and dysfunctional environment where life required resilience from an early age. In the midst of instability, she discovered something unexpected.
Cleaning brought calm.
Order created peace.
Cared-for spaces offered emotional steadiness when little else did.
Those early experiences shaped a deep understanding of how environment affects well-being. Later in life, after years of hardship, Kimberly sought support and began again through the Austin Shelter for Women and Children.
Through guidance, faith, and personal restoration work, she continues to rebuild her life and reclaim a sense of dignity, clarity, and purpose. Her work is not over yet and she still relies heavily on faith to guide her, and she is committed to help others in their journey, just like she is in hers.
